於今日舉辦的 Android Show 發表活動中，Google 證實今年的 Android 16 將於六月釋出正式版本，兩大手機品牌有望搶先升級。
相較往年 Android 系統多在秋季推出，今年首度提前至六月發布，外界推測是為配合 Pixel 手機的發表時程。因為先前 Pixel 9 選擇在去年八月上市，較以往十月來得更早，但當時卻來不及搭載 Android 15 系統，是延遲兩個多月後才完成升級，也是首款未能趕上 Android 新版本的 Pixel 手機。
Google 日前也證實，提早推出 Android 16 是為了與「生態系統內產品的發布時間同步」，讓更多新機能直接採用 Android 16 系統。Google 並透露，今年將分為兩個核心版本：六月發表的版本主打新功能與 API，第四季則會推出次要版本，聚焦於錯誤修復與系統優化。
這次全新 Android 16 將於六月登場，首波獲得升級的自然是 Google 自家的 Pixel 手機。此外，Google 也特別點名三星，確認 Galaxy 系列手機將於夏季升級至 Android 16，不過具體機型與時間仍待三星官方公布。三星預計於本月底啟動基於 Android 16 的 One UI 8 測試，普遍推測新一代 Galaxy Z Fold6、Galaxy Z Flip6 很可能是首波機型
除了三星以外，Google 也提到會有其他品牌在夏季一起升級至 Android 16，但具體有哪一些品牌，則未有進一步消息。
